What to include

Do not put Social Security numbers, full birth dates, financial details, medical information, private addresses, or sensitive documents in a message or public comment. A public record link and booking number are usually more useful. For confidential legal issues, contact the appropriate official service or attorney directly.

The message helper prepares text for you to copy. It does not send a request. After copying, open the Facebook page and paste the message into its messaging feature.

Report a site error

Message the Locked Up York County Facebook page with the affected page link, a short explanation of the issue, and a link to supporting official information when available. A booking number helps distinguish entries with similar names. A question about a guide or resource can use that page’s link instead.

Examples include a charge description that does not match supporting records, an incorrect booking detail, a misleading explanation, or a broken official resource link. Include the specific wording you believe is wrong and the correction supported by the source.

Request a booking removal

There is no fee to request or receive a removal. If your charges have been resolved in court, send the booking number or page link, the name shown on the record, and a brief description of the outcome. Identify the court and a supporting public docket or document reference when available. Dismissal, acquittal, discharge, and expungement documentation help us review the request. Do not post court documents or sensitive personal information in public comments.

Each request is reviewed for the specific booking and supporting information. After approval, the record is removed from this website and blocked from returning during later source updates. We also check linked posts on the accounts we manage. Copies shared by other people and search-engine caches may need separate requests and can take longer to disappear.

Finishing a case and qualifying for a statutory removal are different questions. South Carolina Code section 17-1-60 describes documented removal requests and their requirements. You can contact us for a voluntary review without waiting to use that statutory process.

What happens next

A correction or removal request is checked against the affected record and available supporting information. A corrected or removed website entry may also revise totals in the current statistics dashboard. Source gaps and uncertainty are explained rather than replaced with an assumed case outcome.

Official record corrections

This website cannot change an official detention listing, court docket, or case outcome. Contact the detention center for its current listing and custody information, or the applicable court for a court-record issue. An attorney can help with questions about an individual legal situation. The York County resource directory explains the different starting points.
